Kelly Hayes-Raitt jokes she sleeps around -- usually with animals! Before "settling" in Lisbon in 2022, she traveled full-time as an international housesitter for 12 years, caring for pups, kitties and bunnies in Africa, Asia, Europe and North America.

She's written "How to Become a Housesitter: Insider Tips from the HouseSit Diva," available on Amazon and her web site.

After a career as a political spokesperson in California and a freelance journalist that included reporting from pre- and post-invasion Iraq, she now edits books, writes travel pieces and explores Portugal.
