Intercultural consultant /cultural bridge builder
Vanessa Paisley is a trainer and lecturer in the field of intercultural communication and English as a global language.
She was born in Tanzania, grew up in the UK, lived and worked in Austria for 23 years, and repatriated to the UK 9 years ago.
In her work she helps people to meet the challenges of living and working across cultures, both in the relocating individuals from one country to another (especially to the UK and Austria) AND in supporting multicultural project teams to communicate and cooperate effectively.
Vanessa also works on a cross-cultural study program for professional students from Austria and India, known as XPlore India, which takes learning beyond the textbook.
With an academic background in German and a Masters in Communication Studies, Vanessa works with individuals, families and teams both online and in person using a variety of tools and methods. One of her favourite tools is Worldwork’s The International Profiler, a psychometric tool for the assessment of intercultural competences.
She is also an ITEC Certified Senior Trainer and often helps new interculturalists to establish their place in the field of intercultural communication and market themselves accordingly.
Vanessa has two grown-up bicultural kids and one of her biggest challenges in life was helping them with their Maths homework in German!
She delivers intercultural training both in English and German.
